At Childer Thornton we believe that music is a universal language that can connect people within and across communities.

We value music as a subject that can provide children with the chance to be creative, express themselves and their feelings, and develop self-confidence. Our children experience a diverse range of musical styles and genres and develop their own preferences for the music they most enjoy. Our aim is for children to develop a passion for the subject alongside gaining a high level of skill and relevant knowledge of music.

We are proud to offer all of our upper KS2 children two years of high-quality instrument tuition taught by Mrs Thomas who is a specialist, fully-qualified, music teacher. They are taught to grading standard by the end of their two years.
